Once again, our church premises were involved in the local Chinese New Year celebrations on Saturday the 10th of February. This colourful event is now in its 5th year and organised by the Macclesfield Town Council.

Many hundreds of people and families with young children walked with the procession from the Town Hall to Park Green. All enjoyed the beautifully created papier-mâché animals on display; the Tiger, Rat, Pig, Rabbit and this year’s Dragon!

At the church buildings, children were able to enjoy arts and crafts, and everyone sampled various Chinese foods including a piece of New Year cake - “Nian Gao”. It was also lovely to hear a live playing of a Pipa (a stringed instrument). The atmosphere was wonderful and everyone seemed to have a great time.
