Worship & Mission
Worship
We meet for worship every Sunday at 10.45 a.m. in our church at Park Green, Macclesfield. The service lasts for 50 - 60 minutes and includes Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month at which we use gluten free bread and alcohol-free wine.
Our services are in a traditional style, but relaxed and informal. They often include a mix of contemporary and older hymns. The music is led by an organist and pianist.
We are blessed with many regular visiting service leaders - current and retired ministers and lay preachers. On a few occasions during the year, the Elders lead worship and members of the congregation regularly participate in worship, presenting our Bible readings.
We have a crèche for babies and children under three and ‘busy bags’ for any young children preferring to stay with their parents.
Mission
Our mission is to share God’s vision of justice and love for all people in the world around us, including our local neighbourhood.
The United Reformed Church believes that all people are created in God's image and are loved by God. In his ministry, Jesus showed God's love by his openness to all people, including those who were marginalised in his day. The United Reformed Church strives to be a hospitable and inclusive church where all, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation or social class are warmly welcomed into the life of the Church, its worship and pastoral care.
