We extend a warm welcome to all, whether you live in Macclesfield or Bollington or are a visitor to the area. Worship at Park Green is in our Grade II Listed building, mainly traditional in format, with choir and organ music. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. At Bollington we meet in the comfortable surroundings of Shrigley Court. Communion is celebrated on the third Sunday of the month.

Dear Friends,

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, Government advice and URC national advice the Elders have taken the difficult decision to close the Church.
This means that there will be no Sunday Services until further notice.

The Elders will constantly monitor the evolving situation, and we will re-open when it is safe to do so.

In these difficult times we would encourage our friends and members to use the phone to keep in contact with each other, and their pastoral group leaders.
We would also recommend the URC daily devotions, which from Sunday 22nd March will also include a podcast of a full Sunday Service.

We hope that you will understand this extraordinary action given the circumstances.
We pray that we will soon be able to meet together to Worship God, and to share in fellowship.

Your friend, elder and webmaster,

Weddings are by arrangement with the Minister, Rev Marion Tugwood who will meet with you to discuss the ceremony and legal requirements. Photography and confetti are permitted at all weddings in the Church.

The Church can provide the sacrament of baptism for both children and adults. In either case there is a period of discussion and instruction before the baptism...... All baptisms 'known to many as christenings' take place during the normal worship service on Sunday morning.

Macclesfield United Reformed Church - History ...

The church was originally founded in 1788, when it began in the building which is now the church hall. The present church built in 1877 was a development from that.

This Grade ll listed building was a Congregational Church, until 1972 when union with the Presbyterian Church in England and Wales, brought about the creation of the United Reformed Church. There were subsequent unions with Churches of Christ (1981) - and Congregational Union of Scotland (2000).

Church Transported Back to 1876 ...

A forgotten time-capsule dating back to 1876, has been discovered by builders, beneath a memorial stone during our redevelopment programme. The stone jar containing newspapers and photos, was left there over one hundred years ago for people in the future to discover. The capsule was opened by Margaret Southern.

Our modern church has recently been given a child friendly award • Any enquires please contact on ~ Tel: 01625 616138

The church community regularly supports many local charities, Christian Aid and Breadline, Moldova

Our church is 'family friendly' with a créche for babies, and activities & christian teaching for children
aged 4-10, and young people aged 11-16 - all fully supervised.
